  • Repeal the Comstock Act!
Once again, our rights and bodily autonomy are in the hands of the right-wing-packed Supreme Court. The Supreme Court just heard oral arguments on access to mifepristone—the FDA-approved, safe, and effective abortion pill. And two of the court's most conservative, anti-abortion judges referenced a 150-year-old, sexist, invasive, and dormant law—that is, tragically, still on the books—in their questions, a sign that they are looking for opportunities to turn back the clock a century and a half. The Comstock Act of 1873 must be repealed now before it's too late!

  • Don’t Ban TikTok!
There are plenty of issues that are front of mind for Americans across the country today: our bodily autonomy is under attack, from attacks on abortion care to attacks on IVF to attacks on gender-affirming care. LGBTQ+ youth is under attack. Systemic racism is harming Black, Indigenous, and brown people. There are millions of Americans who either have no healthcare or are underinsured. Americans owe over a trillion dollars in student debt. Dark money in politics is corrupting elected officials. Billionaires are avoiding paying their fair share in taxes. Rent prices are soaring and higher than ever while the federal minimum wage hasn’t gone up from $7.25 in 15 years. We are still in a pandemic. Communities still don’t have access to clean water. Climate change due to fossil fuels is destroying our communities. But one of the latest laws that the House of Representatives passed? An unconstitutional bill to ban TikTok, violating and limiting the free speech of the over 150 million Americans who use the app. They need to focus on the issues that are actually negatively affecting our communities. We must come together to stop this. Will you sign the petition to say NO to a TikTok ban NOW?

  • Stop working with Boeing and retire your Boeing planes NOW!
Boeing’s aircraft have resulted in more than 6,000 aviation accidents and incidents worldwide. Out of those 6,000, 415 were fatal accidents, and more than 9,000 people have died as a result of Boeing’s faulty aircraft. And just in the last two months, a Boeing plane door plug exploded on an Alaska Airlines flight; a Boeing plane suddenly nosedived mid-flight, injuring 50 people on a Latam Airlines flight; and a United Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing when a wheel fell off the Boeing plane, damaging and crushing several cars in San Francisco. This is dangerous and unacceptable. Will you sign the petition?

  • Let U.S. embassies fly LGBTQ+ Pride flags!
Congress finally passed a budget—but not before Republicans pushed through an anti-LGBTQ+ rider banning the Pride flag from U.S. embassies. This most recent example of Republican overreach sends a chilling message to LGBTQ+ people here and globally. Sign the petition to demand that President Biden and Congress repeal the policy ASAP and allow U.S. embassies to fly Pride flags in time for International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia on May 17 and in time for Pride month!

  • Act NOW to remove lead from the country's water supply
Lead pipes can contaminate drinking water even at low exposure levels, and hundreds of thousands of people die each year prematurely due to lead exposure. That's why the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has set the maximum contaminant level goal for lead in drinking water at ZERO. But we are far from that goal in our country. The EPA under the Biden Administration rolled out new rules giving states 10 years to replace lead pipes—but that's too long to wait. Demand the EPA speed up the timeline for states to remove lead pipes from their water supply lines and demand clean water for all!

Shorten the workweek to 32 hours and make our economy equitable! Americans are working more, earning less, and are more stressed. It's time we follow in the footsteps of places like Belgium and Iceland and institute a four-day workweek!

  • Pass the Equal Rights Amendment NOW!
It’s been over 100 years since the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) was introduced in Congress, which would prohibit discrimination based on sex. It’s been over 50 years since it was passed by Congress. And it’s been over four years since Virginia ratified the ERA, pushing it over the required three-quarters state ratification needed for amendments to take effect. “We the people” in the Constitution should include all of us. Honor the century-worth of women and gender-diverse activists who have pushed the ERA forward. Sign the petition to demand Congress recognize the ERA NOW!

  • Protect Children From Abuse and Death in Child Care Facilities
Every week 8.2 million kids spend part of their time being cared for outside of the home by people who are not their parents. And for that large group of kids, we barely know anything about the quality of their care. Back in 2014, Congress authorized a block grant to states that subsidizes the cost of child care for families with low-incomes. States taking those federal funds were mandated to implement a variety of safety standards, including conducting thorough background checks on child care workers and reporting on troubling incidents. Of all the states that use these grant funds, over a dozen have failed to comply with the mandate to report death and abuse statistics. And on the issue of comprehensive background checks: more than half are out of compliance with the policy. This leaves millions of parents in the dark about their child’s safety in daycare centers. In states that do share safety statistics, cases of abuse or serious injury at daycare centers are as low as zero and as high as nineteen thousand. But because the data is so scattered—with some states not reporting at all—parents can’t know the truth about the safety of their children. Child care centers in the U.S. are safe, but even just one child experiencing abuse or dying in daycare is too many. Add your name to protect kids from abuse and death and demand the government enforce child care safety regulations.
