Disclose influence and source of Legislation

Members of Congress should disclose if any of the legislation they are introducing was crafted, reviewed or altered by special interest group, industry group or individual lobbyist representing special interest groups. Members of Congress should also disclose if these groups were contributors to the member's re-election campaign or have made any political contributions directly or through a third party.

Why is this important?

Legislation is often crafted by lobbyists for special interest and introduced by members of Congress without any vetting. This is due to the fact that they feel indebted to the lobbyists for their election funding. Also their staff is overworked and frequently does not review what is being proposed.
