Stop using people's Gross income for determining eligibility for Snap.

Considering net income as the deciding factor for food stamp eligibility. Quit using gross income against families. Use what the family actually brings home, what they actually have to spend on feeding their families.

Why is this important?

Recently I was denied Snap assistance for my family of 5. My husband grosses $2000.00 biweekly, but his net income is only $800.00 biweekly. When DHS saw his Gross, we were instantly laughed at, then told we were denied. How can you use an amount of money that we don't even see to determine eligibility? It needs to be considered to change to using net income!
