Add More UTK Commuter Parking
Ever since the Lake Avenue Garage turned into a non-commuter garage, hundreds of commuter parking spaces have been removed, yet no action has been taken to add sufficient parking for commuting students. This petition plans to change that.
Why is this important?
We commuter students pay hundreds of dollars for a parking permit just to drive to a campus with inadequate parking, causing many to be late to class and unnecessary stress. There are not enough parking spaces to serve the majority of the commuter students, even though UT's transportation department reels in millions of dollars a year from parking passes alone. This petition is to raise awareness to the chancellor and other UT administration about the dire need to create more parking for commuter students.
