Burger King: Don’t Dodge U.S. Taxes

Don’t move your corporate headquarters out of the country to avoid paying your fair share of U.S. taxes. If you desert America, I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Why is this important?

It was recently announced that Burger King may be merging with the Canadian chain Tim Hortons and relocating its headquarters to Canada, all in an attempt to dodge U.S. taxes. Canada has lower corporate tax rates than the United States, so Burger King wants to continue to operate across America, just not pay its fair share.

This summer, Walgreens was thinking about doing something similar, but because hundreds of thousands spoke out, it ditched the effort. Now it’s time to tell Burger King to pay its fair share of U.S. taxes and keep an American address, or we’ll take our business elsewhere.
