Business leaders in support of the CT Children’s Exposure to Chemicals Act

As business leaders we support the Children’s Exposure to Chemicals Act (SB 126), identifying hazardous chemicals in children’s products. Children’s Exposure to Chemicals Act (SB 126), will contribute toward clarity in the marketplace, build trust from consumers and support a healthy economy.

Why is this important?

There are six predominant reasons why business would benefit from meaningful chemical policy reform in Connecticut:

1. It would unleash a wave of innovation, investment and job creation in the development of safer and cleaner chemicals and products.

2. It would reduce the costs and risks associated with managing chemicals in products and across supply chains;

3. It would lower expenses from chemically-induced illness and enhance productivity among our employees;

4. It would improve transparency and communication throughout the supply chain, leading to increased confidence for downstream users;

5. it would help us identify chemicals of high concern to human health or the environment so we can remove them from our supply chain and avoid them in our products; and, perhaps most importantly

6. It would increase trust among consumers – and our employees, communities, and investors, thereby growing business and the Connecticut economy.

Children’s Exposure to Chemicals Act (SB 126), will contribute toward clarity in the marketplace, build trust from consumers and support a healthy economy. Passage of this bill can drive much needed innovation, business growth and job creation in Connecticut.

We therefore urge passage of Children’s Exposure to Chemicals Act (SB 126).
