President Obama's announcement was an important one, allowing up to 5 million people to come forward and be a part of a country that has become their home. Unfortunately, there are still at least 7 million people who are being left out.
Inspired by President Obama's policy to allow everyone who has U.S. citizen children and been here for five years, I think everyone who has resided in this country for more than five years should have the opportunity to come forward and be a part of this country if they meet certain criteria.
Please introduce a bill to this effect and work to get it passed as soon as possible.
Why is this important?
President Obama's announcement protecting 5 million people who only know this country as home has inspired me to start working to fight for everyone else.
Just as President Obama allows everyone with U.S. citizen children and has been here for five years to come forward, I think everyone who has resided in this country should be offered the opportunity to come forward.
