"Day One, My First Hour in Office, Those People Are Gone" Support Sanctuary Cities

The random selection of people of color or religion, many having lived in the U.S. all of their lives, are in danger of being uprooted overnight, sent to jail-like detention centers, and deported with nothing but the clothes on their backs; their families torn apart. They will be subject to being detained and ID'd to determine their legal status or religious belief. They can be detained indefinitely. The vast majority have no one advocating on their behalf, so the process may take years.

Cities are mandated to enforce local laws; they are not mandated to enforce federal immigration laws. 200 + cities across the nation are refusing to co-operate with president-elect Trump's proposed agenda of massive deportation. With the threat of having their federal funds denied, they stand strong.

Together with 100's of other Sanctuary Cities throughout our nation.

We the undersigned stand alongside you and support you for taking this stance.

Why is this important?

This petition is to support all of the sanctuary cities that are taking a stance against president-elect Trump's proposed mass deportation policy. I'm concerned for all of my friends and neighbors and the rest of the people in our country who will have their lives turned upside down.
