D.C. Retail Workers Deserve a Living Wage

D.C. workers deserve a living wage. A big first step will be the Large Retailer Accountability Act of 2013, which will raise the wage of some workers to $11.75.

This will impact large retailers like Walmart, with at least 75,000 square feet of retail space and earn at least $1 billion in revenue per year.

Now is the time to help D.C. workers. Please support the Large Retailer Accountability Act of 2013.

Why is this important?

The D.C. City Council has introduced a bill that would require all businesses, like Walmart, with 75,000 square feet of retail space or more and at least $1 billion in annual revenues to pay workers $12.50 an hour.

Workers in D.C. deserve a living wage, and this bill is a big step in the right direction. By raising wages for workers in large retail workplaces like Walmart, this will impact thousands of D.C. families.

Write to the D.C. Council now and urge them to support the Large Retailer Accountability Act of 2013.
