Defend Our Kids

We are asking Florida State lawmakers to pass legislation that will:
1. Require all Florida public schools grades 6-12 to have all doors with public access to be locked at all times. Doors in which students and visitors enter the school must have properly trained and licensed security personal and metal detectors.
2. Each Florida public school must have 1 certified social worker who will deal solely with identifying students who display behaviors that may pose a safety risk to students and/or staff. This social worker will provide on site counseling and threat assessment and contact law enforcement and mental health services as needed.
