Don't Fast Track "free trade" agreements.
We are opposed to giving President Obama Fast Track Authority that would undermine the ability of Congress to have a voice in trade agreements. We urge you to vote against Fast Track and to make the Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiating process transparent and accountable to the people. "Free Trade" agreements aren't free and they aren't about trade any more, they impact Maine & American sovereignty.
Why is this important?
Free Trade agreements have already lost jobs, shuttered plants and hollowed out Maine's communities. The last thing we need is another trade deal that limits ability to safeguard the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat. We don't need any free trade agreements; we need fair trade agreements.
