Don't Frack Illinois!
We need to stop fracking to protect our environment and health. And the situation is urgent now, as the state just finalized weak rules that will green light fracking here in Illinois.
Why is this important?
Right now, we're calling on Gov. Pat Quinn to step up and protect Illinois from this dirty gas drilling. But if state officials will not protect us from fracking, then we need Congress to close the loopholes exempting fracking from our nation’s bedrock environmental and public health laws, and we need to convince federal officials to keep Shawnee National Forest — and all of our treasured places — off limits to dirty drilling.
