End Election Day Chaos: Fix New York's Voting Procedures

By Marc Landis (Contact)

To be delivered to: Gale Brewer, Chair, Committee on Governmental Operations, New York City Council, The New York State House, The New York State Senate, and Governor Andrew Cuomo

Petition Statement
On Election Day, the voting experience of hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers was tarnished by huge lines, jammed ballot scanners, chaotic poll sites and unqualified poll workers. We believe that every New Yorker should be given the fullest opportunity to vote!

Please tell the New York State Legislature and the New York City Council that we want:

• Early voting
• "No excuses" absentee ballots
• Same-day voter registration
• Nonpartisan election administration

Petition Background

On Election Day, the voting experience of hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers was tarnished by huge lines, jammed ballot scanners, chaotic poll sites and unqualified poll workers. We believe that every New Yorker should be given the fullest opportunity to vote!

We -- Marc Landis, LeAnn Leutner, Joan Paylo and Nick Prigo -- are elected Democratic Party district leaders in Manhattan. We have seen the problems firsthand, and ask you to join us in calling upon our government representatives to address them.
