Force Indiana to Recognize the LGBT Community as a Protected Class

This is in response to the recent Religious Freedom Restoration Act that was passed and signed by Indiana Gov. Pence. Just a couple days into its signing, millions of people, and hundreds of organizations and businesses, have come out in either disgust or discontent towards this recent bill. This bill was obviously a reaction to the recent ruling to allow same-sex marriage in Indiana, and even though Pence and others have said the RFRA isn't about discrimination, it's quite obvious its intention. No business or organization should turn down people based on something they have no choice over. That is why Jim Crow laws in the south were removed. Such discrimination creates divides in the community, and creates an atmosphere of closed-mindedness and bigotry. There is one very easy fix to this whole problem. Tell the Indiana General Assembly to introduce a law that would make the state recognize the LGBT community as a protect class, along with other groups like race, gender, and many more. If this bill is introduced, passed, and signed, that would greatly limit the discriminatory power of the RFRA, and it would prove once and for all that Hoosiers are for the inclusion of all people regardless of their sexual orientation.

Why is this important?

My name is Tyler Williams, I live in Terre Haute Indiana. Many people I know and love are of the LGBT community, and it personally hurts and affects them and myself that such a law like the Religious Freedom Restoration Act would pass that would allow businesses to turn away others based on their religious convictions. Though the law does not specifically list the LGBT community, its quite clear the law's intention in response to the recent ruling in Indiana to allow same-sex marriage.
