Georgia Pacific: Stop putting profits before people.

By Glenn Jackson (Contact)

To be delivered to: James Hannan, Georgia-Pacific, CEO

Petition Statement
We support the workers at Georgia Pacific. As members of this community we want you to stop putting profits before people by taking good jobs from our region. We also demand that those elected to represent us work with us to find a solution and good work for the people and community impacted by this closure.

Petition Background

On October 21st, the Georgia Pacific plant where I have worked for over 21 years will close for good. The next day, along with 140 of my coworkers, I will find myself without work, without health care, without any prospects for new work.
Georgia Pacific has given us no reason for closing the plant and eliminating so many good paying jobs.

I am most terrified by the loss of my health insurance – as my wife battles cancer, what are we supposed to do? Go bankrupt right as we prepare for retirement?

Stand with me and the 140 other laid-off workers to demand an explanation from Georgia Pacific, and call upon our elected representatives to stand up for us.
