Before the DHS appropriations bill gets to the Senate floor, detract from supporting Steve King's amendment to de-fund DACA and attempt to then the program. We need actions, not just words.
Why is this important?
Steve King has recently said that “For every one who’s a valedictorian, there’s another 100 out there that weigh 130 pounds, and they’ve got calves the size of cantaloupes because they’re hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert... These people would be legalized with the same act.”. The GOP leadership has come out against his remarks, but they supported him when he introduced an amendment to defund DACA in the DHS appropriations bill. They need to stop the hypocrisy and stop this amendment form moving forward.
