To: Governor Greg Abbott
Gregg Abbott: Repeal your statement on accepting refugees.
Accept refugees as the people of Texas demand that you allow us to show the compassion that only Texans can show. Any way opposing the people's will is shameful, show us that you have compassion in your heart to allow these humans that simply want a safe place to call home to stay within our boarders.
Why is this important?
My petition, as futile it may be, is something that I believe that is important and to turn a blind eye would be disgusting. As an American who was born into the low class worrying each day, if I would have a home to sleep in, a meal to eat. I can understand maybe just slightly some of the emotions that are running through these individuals heads. I was outraged when I heard the news that gov. Greg Abbott would go so far to put laws into effect that counter the federal government's commitment to help. I know I am not alone in this. If this doesn't work, I'll just create my own sites to petition this issue. :)
