Help Us Prevent GRIZZLY BEARS from Losing Endangered Species Act Protection

To be delivered to Dan Ashe, Director, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

Petition Statement

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service,
We oppose your proposal to strip grizzly bears in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem of their Endangered Species Act protection. If delisted, grizzlies in Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming would face being hunted and killed for the first time in 40 years. Grizzlies are iconic wildlife in the American West critical to the health of the West’s ecosystems. Their population has not fully recovered; and so long as the animals' survival is threatened, all grizzlies require continued Endangered Species Act protection.
There are currently 2,922 signatures. NEW goal - We need 3,000 signatures!

Petition Background

Western Environmental Law Center is a nonprofit, public-interest environmental law firm. Our expert attorneys are ready to use the full power of the law and the courts to protect grizzly bears. We will be submitting legal comments to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service regarding their proposal, but we need your help! Please join us before the comment deadline on May 10, 2016 by signing this petition and adding your comments to USFWS that you want grizzlies to fully recover as a natural and integral part of our landscape.
