Honor ABQ Voters: Put Reduced Marijuana Penalties on the Ballot

Support the City Council resolution to send the question of reduced marijuana penalties to the ballot this November.

City hall made a mistake that shut down the citizen initiative process after voters submitted 16,000 names - 5,000 more signatures than city hall said it would require - to vote on the issue.

Honor the will of the voters and put the question on the ballot this November.

Why is this important?

More than 16,000 people - 5000 more than the 11,203 first required by the city - signed the citizen-led petitions to place reduced marijuana penalties on the ballot for voters this fall.

But after the 60-day petition period ended, city hall says they made a mistake and raised the requirement, keeping the question off the ballot.

City councilors have a new resolution to ask voters if the city should adopt the proposed measure and they want to hear from voters. Tell them to honor the will of voters who did their part to hold this election.
