Ahead of his State of the Union address, President Obama announced his plan to call on Congress to pass a federal paid sick days bill to give workers seven paid sick days for each year of work.
President Obama's support for national paid sick days comes after big Working Families wins on the issue in Connecticut, New York City, and cities in New Jersey and Oregon!
No one should have to go to work sick. But for millions of American workers, especially low wage working women, one stomach bug is all it takes to lose a week's pay or even your job. It's not healthy and it's not right. Let's pass paid sick days.
