Impose a Moratorium on Fracking in Illinois

By Chuck Paprocki (Contact)

To be delivered to: The Illinois State House, The Illinois State Senate, and Governor Pat Quinn

Petition Statement
Governor, Senate and House of Representatives of the state of Illinois: impose a two year moratorium on horizontal hydraulic fracking in southern Illinois until research reveals that our air, water and soil can be protected from deadly toxins.

Petition Background

At this time the government of Illinois have begun negotiations with the oil and gas industry to allow horizontal hydraulic fracking in southern Illinois. Hundreds of towns, counties and even states have banned fracking due to the impact of hundreds of deadly chemicals penetrating the water, air and soil of areas in which fracking occurs. Research has linked fracking to many human and animal cancers and illnesses. Fracking is a direct attack on the health and well being of the people and environment of southern Illinois by big industry. Please help support this local people's struggle.
