Reinstate The Assault Weapons Ban-Join Councilman Derek Armstead of Linden, N.J. In Telling Cong...

At a very young age, I lost my uncle to gun violence and this past summer of 2012, I lost my 20 year old cousin. Wake up America! Violent Crime has become an epidemic, a contagious disease which has gripped our country with fear, frustration and anger. Look around! Gun violence is spreading like the plague, affecting families, communities all over the United States. How many more lives have to be lost? How many tears have to be shed before we do something? The time is now Congress, to reinstate the Federal ban on assault weapons .
I am urging Congress to put politics aside, and do what is right to protect the American people.

Why is this important?

We are asking all members of Congress to do more to protect our citizens, especially our children, from tragedies like the ones in Newtown, Columbine High School massacre, Colorado movie theater shooting and sadly the list goes on.
