Just Say No to PA's unfair Voter ID Law

By Andrew Altman (Contact)

To be delivered to: Joseph R. Passarella, Director of Elections, Montgomery County, PA

Petition Statement
Protect registered voters' right to vote!

Ignore Pennsylvania's voter suppression law demanding photo ID to the full extent of your authority.

Petition Background

Pennsylvania's new voter ID law will require voters to show valid photo ID at the polls at this fall's election for president and state and local offices. Those who voted for this law say it's needed to prevent voter fraud, but they also acknowledge that Pennsylvania does not have a voter fraud problem. Requiring voter ID at the polls will mostly hurt the poor, the elderly, and people of color, who incidentally are likely Obama supporters.

One Pennsylvania Republican promoter of this law even boasted that this law will help Gov. Mitt Romney win Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania is a swing state, and Montgomery County is crucial to winning the state. This law, unconstitutional according to voter advocates, must not be allowed to deny the rights of eligible voters or steal an election for anyone.
