Keep Fracking Out of Florida
I urge you to take a stand against fracking in Florida by voting 'NO' on Senate Bill 318, the bill that would promote fracking.
This terrible bill would pave the way for fracking in places like the Florida Everglades. As if that's not bad enough, it would also prevent communities from passing local measures to protect their residents and prevent public disclosure of the harmful chemicals used in fracking.
In states across the country, fracking for oil and gas has led to drinking water contamination, toxic air pollution and serious health impacts. The people of Florida deserve better.
Why is this important?
Fracking is an extreme oil and gas drilling practice that threatens our air and drinking water.
And right now, there’s a terrible pro-fracking bill making its way through the Florida Legislature. It already passed the House, so it’s critical that we stop this bill in the Senate.
If this bill passes, it will start the process of establishing regulations to allow fracking to go forward in Florida. It would take away the rights of Florida communities to enact local protections against fracking. And it would prevent fracking chemicals from being publicly disclosed.
To protect Florida from the devastation of fracking, we must stop this bill.
