Lawmakers should listen to economists on immigration

When you hold future hearings on immigration, will you select more economists than Undocumented Economists to testify about the economic impact on citizens of what you are considering? Among credentialed economists "the scarcity of evidence for great pessimism stands as a fact." - David Roodman

Why is this important?

Undocumented Economists like the "researchers" at FAIR, NumbersUSA, and Center for Immigration Studies do not have a degree in economics among them, even though the bio of their top "researcher" boasts that "Camarota has testified before Congress more than any other non-government expert on the economic and fiscal impact of immigration." Some Congressmen will realize that if economists are allowed fair access to senate hearings about the economic consequences of immigration policy, immigration restrictionism will be exposed for its grounding in unschooled speculation. But how will they justify not hearing economists? Most restrictionists have no idea that their information sources have no credentials, so the call for Congressmen to hear economists will seem a no brainer; they will only be surprised at the suggestion that Congressmen don't already listen to economists. The call to hear experts on immigration economics who cared enough about understanding economics to make that their major in college will be educational at every level. It will not just refute ignorance; it will heal it.
