We need a mandatory firearm insurance for all individuals who own weapons. People who are damaged by firearms should have an avenue of obtaining compensation when they are damaged by the loss of a loved one or due to an injury caused by a firearm.
Why is this important?
There have been a lot of gun deaths in this country as a result of gun owners not having their weapons secured, or inadequate firearm training.
I recommend a mandatory insurance for all firearms owned by individuals. Much as we are required by law to insure our motor vehicles so that any damage that is caused by an accident does not leave the damaged persons without any avenue to pursue reparations, the same policy should be in place for victims of firearm violence.
