Mayor Berry: 90% pay is not equal pay for women

Paying women 90% of a fair wage is not equal. Amend the Mayor's "equal pay" ordinance to require - not reward - businesses to provide 100% equal pay for women to earn taxpayer-funded projects with the City of Albuquerque.

Why is this important?

Mayor Berry says he passed his"equal pay for women in ABQ" ordinance because “it is time we start incentivizing the result we want." But, it rewards companies who agree to "pay women at least within 10 percent of what they pay men in comparable jobs."
