Mayor Jacobs: Call for a criminal investigation stemming from the county's actions during the September 11th public hearing on Earned Sick Time. It is the only way to restore faith in the democratic process and bring justice to 52,000 voters who legally petitioned their local government.

Petition Background

Last summer, organizers in Orange County, FL gathered more than 50,000 petitions earning the right to vote on the issue of Earned Sick Time for workers. Five out of six county commissioners were found to be secretly texting lobbyists to block citizens from their right to vote on this issue. The only way to restore faith in the democratic process and bring justice to 52,000 voters who legally petitioned their government is for Mayor Jacobs to call for a criminal investigation into the commissioners’ questionable actions.
