Medicaid expansion in Missouri
Please expand Medicaid coverage in Missouri to all non-Medicare eligible individuals under age 65 whose incomes are up to 133% of the federal poverty level. Expansion not only provides needed healthcare to Missourians; it also helps rural hospitals and medical professionals and means that costly emergency room services will not be inefficiently used to provide care for these people.
Why is this important?
I know people who fall in the Medicaid gap who cannot get coverage. I also know medical professionals who see firsthand how the failure to expand Medicaid results in increased use of emergency department resources, underpayment to hospitals and medical professionals, and substantial loss of work productivity.
