Mitch McConnell: Return the cocaine-linked money

McConnell has been a leading force in the war on drugs which has cost the US economy hundreds of billions and put tens of thousands behind bars for non-violent crimes. In 1996, he sponsored the "Enhanced Marijuana Penalties Act" to increase mandatory minimum sentence for marijuana possession.

Recently it's come to light that a ship found carrying 90 pounds of cocaine was owned by McConnell's inlaws, the Chao family. The Chaos have given McConnell anywhere between $5-25 million in personal contributions.

We are calling for McConnell to speak out about this and to return every last cent of the drug money.

Why is this important?

There are over 100,000 inmates in American prisons for non-violent drug offenses; meanwhile McConnell continues to personally profit by accepting donations linked to cocaine-smuggling companies. It's time for an end to the hypocrisy.
