Nancy Pelosi: File a Discharge Petition

To be delivered to The United States House of Representatives

Petition Statement

The best way to bring a bill that has the support of a majority of the members of the House of Representatives to the floor over the objections of the speaker is a discharge petition. The soonest one can be voted on is October 14th, but the signatures of 218 member of the House must sign by October 6th for that earliest vote. Ask Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to file such a petition and get those willing to vote for the clean CR from the Senate to sign. Now is the time for those who are actually willing to vote to end the government shut down, Republican or Democrat, to step forward, sign a discharge petition, and force a vote.
There are currently 1,862 signatures. NEW goal - We need 2,000 signatures!

Petition Background

Our government is shut down. People in all fifty states are suffering, from tourists locked out of National Parks and Monuments to children with cancer unable to sign up for clinic trials to mothers with infants and children. This standoff needs to end and the way to do that is through a Discharge Petition to force a vote on a clean continuing resolution. Get our government back to work NOW!
