National Indian Day

To be delivered to The Oklahoma State House, The Oklahoma State Senate, Governor Mary Fallin, The United States House of Representatives, The United States Senate, and President Barack Obama

Petition Statement

We are ONE and the American Indian/Native American Indian should be honored by having a legal public holiday designated on April 22 (Earth Day/sharing this date with mother earth seems logical). Please express your support by signing my petition.
There are currently 223 signatures. NEW goal - We need 300 signatures!

Petition Background

Native Americans are the foundation to the existing ground we walk upon today; they are the people of many generations of strong people. This day of recognition will bring awareness and educate citizens throughout the world in a positive manner and influence people to express their support and respect to our Native American people. There are several great Native American leaders. The date of April 22 which is also Earth Day seems to be an appropriate time, since Native Americans protect our Mother Earth. This will permit so many people to contribute observation by 'closing' which would conserve in so much positive mannerism. I think everyone should sign this petition, since there is not a specific date for ALL to observe on the same date together. Why you should sign my petition? It is the tribal people who will contribute a helping hand and peaceful traits to all people for generations to come. That is a proven fact.
