Nuclear Accountability
We, the undersigned, have no confidence in the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to competently protect the public. We demand 2 nuclear citizen opposition positions be appointed to the commission immediately to balance this pro-nuclear commission. We demand yearly updated financial records be submitted to the NRC by nuclear power plant operators/owners, including cost projections on decommissioning and waste management.
Why is this important?
It is obvious that the Nuclear Power industry is insolvent. The upcoming Waste Confidence ruling, Senate bill S1240 funneling escrow waste money back to the nuclear industry through the new "Nuclear Waste Administration", and the upcoming ruling on Foreign Ownership of our Nuclear Reactors are strong indication that we need citizen activist participation on the commission and a FULL accounting of this heavily citizen subsidized industry.
