Pittsburgh deserves paid sick days
Right now 50,000 Pittsburghers are denied access to paid sick days.
Without paid sick days, workers are often forced to make impossible choices when illness strikes: stay home, lose pay and risk their jobs; or go to work sick and put the health of themselves and their co-workers and community at risk.
A win on paid sick days would be a win for families, working parents and for all those who care for others. It would be a win for all Pittsburghers.

Why is this important?
Paid sick days help keep families financially secure, workplaces and communities healthy and strong, and businesses and the economy productive.
A study conducted by our very own University of Pittsburgh found that allowing all employees access to paid sick days would reduce influenza infections in the workplace.
More than 20 other cites or states, including Philadelphia, have adopted paid sick day laws. It’s time to add Pittsburgh to the list!
