President Obama & Congress: Apologize & Compensate the Families & Victims of COINTELPRO
We the undersigned of this petition call upon the President and the Congress to apologize and compensate the families and the victims of the FBI's COunter INTELligence PROgram (COINTELPRO).
Further we call upon the President and the Congress to set free the innocent people of this heinous and treasonous program, started under J. Edgar Hoover the founder and first director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), that are still languishing in prisons throughout the United States to this very day.
The families and the victims of this program deserve and are long overdue the peace and closure that can only come from confession and action undertaken by President Obama and the Congress of the United States of America together.

And because the TRUTH should come out! This program, this action was and is wrong. Entirely and demonstrably wrong and should, on its face, be exposed for the treasonous and heinous action that it is and always will be in so long as government allows it to continue.
