Remove Dr Wolk as Head of Colorado Department of Health

With his recent statements dismissing public concerns, and criticism of research documenting potential harm caused by fracking pollution, Dr. Wolk, a pediatrician, shows wanton disregard for the health of children and other Colorado citizens. His refusal to acknowledge research showing that fracking pollution has serious public health implications makes him unacceptable as Director of the Colo. Dept. of Public Health and the Environment. As a political appointee, he appears to be making decisions based on corporate profits, not the welfare of our state. Join me to demand his immediate removal and replacement by a physician who is ready to prioritize public health and thoroughly review the research on the impacts of fossil fuel extraction.

Why is this important?

Dr Wolk recently stated: "I get a little bit concerned and annoyed when people try to use health as the basis of what they don't like about oil and gas." As a retired Registered Nurse and Member of Coloradans Against Fracking, I find it more than annoying that Wolk ignores and dismisses current research on the health effects of fracking pollution and is willing to allow the citizens of Colorado to remain subject to potential toxic exposure while health studies are conducted without the informed consent of participants.
