Remove Rep. Don Young as chair of the Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs

The remarks made by Rep. Young show how unsuited he is for the position assigned to him by the House. Take responsibility for your appointee and remove him from his place as chair of the Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs, Speaker Boehner.

Why is this important?

After hearing Alaska Representative Don Young speak in such cavalier terms about the migrant workers employed on his family's ranch--"We used to hire 50 to 60 wetbacks to pick tomatoes”--we call upon you, Speaker Boehner, to remove him from his assignment as chair of the Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs. He clearly lacks both the professionalism and diplomacy required for any leadership position, particularly one which requires empathy for the dignity of others.
