Rep. Tom Reed: Stop Supporting People Like George Zimmerman Carrying a Concealed Weapon in NYS!
We, the undersigned people of the 23rd Congressional District of New York State, are deeply disappointed and troubled by Representative Tom Reed's cosponsorship of the federally-mandated concealed carry bill, H.R.402.
This bill would allow someone like George Zimmerman to carry a concealed gun anywhere in our state, including places like Times Square and Niagara Falls, which are visited by millions each year.
Why is this important?
Please join us in telling Rep. Tom Reed that he needs to end his cosponsorship of federally-mandated concealed carry, H.R.402, because it would preempt New York's strong concealed carry laws and put New Yorkers in danger.
This bill would force New York to honor the "concealed carry" permits from all other states. This would be a disaster for the safety of our citizens and police because it would allow people like George Zimmerman to carry concealed guns anywhere in our state, including places like Times Square and Niagara Falls, visited by millions each year.
This bill is bad for Congressional District 23, bad for New York State and bad for our Nation.
