Rules for the Construction of New Professional Sports Facilities in the United States

The construction of new sports facilities should be bound to a set of rules that must be followed with regard to construction, operation and ownership. Those rules are to include per this petition;
1. They must be privately financed. This ensures that the intent for public benefit. The public should not finance what amounts to private business activity in which they will not receive profit sharing of such private business activity! Nor should there ever be allowed any where going away if the public doesn’t pay tactics allowed. We have seen enough of that in terms of players defying the concept of the Team in favor of more money somewhere else.

2. They must incorporate Building Integrated Photo Voltaic Electricity producing panels on the roof and side of the structure that faces the sun during the day. The electricity and or profits produced from such structures over and above the needs of the building are to flow to the citizen. This is in line with the structure being created for the benefit of the public.
3. No single purpose facilities may be built. They must be community facilities whereby more than one function will be held there.
4. The profits from the sale of alcohol at such facility are to be distributed to the public. Alcohol is considered a gateway drug to the use of more harmful drugs. Hence it may also be considered to be a gateway for criminals to opportunize the sale of those more harmful drugs!

Why is this important?

Background: In the wake of the steroid scandals in professional sports they may be deemed to have conducted criminal activity and hence all operations are to fall under the public domain. What has been termed professional sports has and is in the process of displacing the value of academic degrees. There has been little proper justice with regard to those who have conducted criminal activity being banned from the sports. And I believe that it is in the better interest of humanity that we lessen the influence of what is termed professional athlete as role models in our country. Often what we see in professional sports is not even of the standard that the nonprofessional had when they played the exact same sport as children! So these provisions are put in place so that the public does indeed receive some benefit from the use of resources and construction of such facilities!
