Petition Statement

Support Niles families by saying NO to the proposed gun shop and 22-lane firing range to be located 6143 W. Howard Street. A gun shop and firing range has no business being located near Niles schools, churches, and businesses that serve children, including:
Niles West High School
St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church
Lil' Kickers Soccer Program (serves kids under 9)
Jump!Zone (serves kids 2-12)
Leaning Tower YMCA
Demonstrate that our elected officials want Niles to remain the #1 place in the U.S. to raise kids. Say NO to 14-ZP-18.
There are currently 145 signatures. NEW goal - We need 200 signatures!

Petition Background

Niles is considering allowing a gun shop and 22-lane firing range to open within walking distance of Niles West High School, New Hope Academy, Lil' Kickers and Jump!Zone. Guns have no place being this close to where Niles children learn and play. Ask our Mayor and Trustees to say NO by signing this petition and showing up at the zoning board hearing on July 7 at 7 p.m. (Village Hall, 1000 Civic Center Drive).
