El proyecto SB 744 no es el mejor proyecto de ley en el mundo pero hay tantos inmigrantes que trabajan fuerte ayudando construir nuestras casas, a construir y mantener nuestras carreteras y puentes, y que han cuidado a nuestros hijos, y siguen viviendo con miedo. Como Tejanos – más que en cualquier otro estado – debemos luchar por una reforma de la ley migratoria que sea justa y humanitaria y que comience con un camino hacia la ciudanía. Conseguir menos sería sin duda inmoral e inhumano después de tanto que han invertido ellos y sus familias en nuestro estado.
Why is this important?
SB 744 is not the best bill in the world but so many hardworking immigrants who have helped build our homes, construct and maintain our roads and bridges, and have taken care of our children, continue to live in fear. As Texans - more than any other State - we must work for fair and humane immigration reform which begins with a path to citizenship. Anything less is flat out immoral and inhumane after all they and their families have invested in our State.
