Together let us harness the energy of the sun, encourage energy efficiency, and streamline economic costs for energy at the Roundhouse as an example to our city, state, and nation. By signing this petition, I support the installation of solar panels and the implementation of energy efficiency measures at the Capitol Complex.
Petition Background
New Mexico’s state capital, Santa Fe, has over 300 days of sunshine a year. However, this great resource has not yet been harnessed to power our state capitol building, the Roundhouse, and its surrounding buildings. Taxpayers spend an average of $60,000 a month to power the Capitol Complex.
