Take Big Money Out of Politics

The Founding Fathers said the government belongs to us, “We the People”, but today, the Government belongs to a few wealthy people who control the elections, policies, and laws by investing in campaign financing and lobbying.
That is why I, Frederick Yattaw, am petitioning the U.S. Government calling for an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution creating new laws to rid our political process of this influential money.
Requirements of the Amendment:
1. All campaign donations are one-time with a limit of $5K
2. Donations from individuals must originate from their personal resources
3. Candidates may not use personal resources beyond a $5K donation
4. All organizations, public and private, are limited to a one-time donation of $5K to the candidates of their choice
5. All campaign spending is restricted to the Candidate’s Campaign Budget
6. Establish ethical standards for all campaign activity
7. The day of the General Election will be an all-inclusive National Holiday
8. All Federal employees are restricted from working as, or for lobbyists for a period of ten years from their last day of government service
9. Lobbyists are restricted from writing or directly assisting in the writing of policy and legislation
10. Improve working conditions for Congressional staffers including salaries, additional support, and recognition

Why is this important?

I am starting this petition because Big Money has stolen our government. Big Money controls the political agenda infused with propaganda as legitimate dialog while disregarding the priorities of a nation desperately in need of honest debate and solutions to its many problems.
