Tell Corbett: NO MORE CUTS!
It’s deja vu all over again. Hard to believe that the Corbett administration is even thinking about making more cuts to education and human services programs to fill a $1 billion deficit – but it is.
The Governor and Legislature must finally enact a tax on the gas drillers, close corporate tax loopholes, reverse previous corporate tax cuts, and expand Medicaid.
Why is this important?
Just yesterday we learned of another tragedy in the Philadelphia schools, a young boy dying in a school without a full-time nurse due to Corbett-inspired budget cuts. At least there are roving nurses; with more cuts even they may go. My kids are now adults but graduates of a proud public school system that Corbett has brought to its knees. We cannot tolerate any further blows to our schools and call ourselves a civilized society.
