Sen. Burr: Close Corporate Tax Loopholes

To be delivered to Sen. Richard Burr (NC-1)

Petition Statement

This fall, as a member of the Senate Finance Committee, you'll play a leading role in deciding whether to close corporate tax loopholes and require the biggest companies to pay their fair share of taxes.

I want you to ensure that any tax reform bills that are passed by the Senate Finance Committee raise $1 trillion in new revenue from the wealthy and corporations over 10 years; make corporations pay their fair share of taxes; end tax breaks that encourage corporations to ship profits and jobs overseas; and eliminate tax loopholes that benefit the wealthy.
There are currently 257 signatures. NEW goal - We need 300 signatures!

Petition Background

Congress will be back in session in just days, on September 9 -- and as soon as they're back, they'll consider whether we should force corporations to pay their fair share of taxes, or if we’re going to keep making painful cuts to education, health care and other services that families depend on.

Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) is a member of the Senate Finance Committee -- the committee that will draft the tax reform bill that the Senate will vote on -- so he will have a lot of sway in the debate. Before Congress is back in session, let him know you want him to require corporations to pay their fair share.
