The Boston ZBA should deny zoning relief to Nuestra's Bartlett Place development project on the grounds that phase 1 serves only Nuestra's mission and growth as a CDC developer, yet is completely at odds with the wealth-building requirements expressed by the community in the RFP Nuestra responded to and was awarded.
The ZBA hearing will take place this Tuesday morning, October 8th, 2013 at 9:00am
Why is this important?
Our community of Roxbury is in dire need of wealth-building opportunities, in particular the opportunity to build wealth through home ownership, which was expressed in the RFP for Bartlett. We see these opportunities as a way to stabilize the community. But Nuestra's first phase of the Bartlett Place development offers only rental and is out of balance with the income mix expressed in the RFP.
Tell Nuestra you want a stable neighborhood. Homeownership should be part of phase 1!
