Tell the FEC: Investigate Vander Plaats for Illegal Campaign Coordination

By Progress Iowa (Contact)

To be delivered to: Federal Election Commission

Petition Statement
Federal Election Commission -

Following his campaign's endorsement from The Family Leader's CEO Bob Vander Plaats, Rick Santorum revealed that Vander Plaats had solicited Santorum's campaign to raise money for Vander Plaats to run ads on the campaign's behalf. Any coordination between a campaign and outside groups is a violation of federal law. ABC News reported that conservative leaders from Iowa believe there was no doubt that the endorsement was for sale and that Vander Plaats solicited $1 million from Santorum and other campaigns. We call on the FEC to investigate Bob Vander Plaats and The Family Leader for illegal coordination of campaign money.

Petition Background

This week following his endorsement, it was revealed Family Leader CEO Bob Vander Plaats solicited Rick Santorum for money to run advertising on his behalf. Any coordination between a campaign and an outside group is ILLEGAL. Join us and tell the FEC to investigate Vander Plaats for illegal coordination and pay to play politics.
