To: The United States Senate

Tell the Senate to stop holding up the confirmation of Loretta Lynch for Attorney General.

Senate Republicans are holding a vote on Attorney General nominee Loretta Lynch, although she has proven to be a phenomenal candidate for the position. They are preventing a vote on Lynch so they can pass a bill on human trafficking, which they have poisoned by including an unrelated provision concerning abortion.

Why is this important?

Loretta Lynch is a supremely qualified candidate to stand as the Attorney General of the United States. She sailed through Senate hearings. But Mitch McConnell is holding up her confirmation to try to pass what should be a non-controversial human trafficking bill. At the last minute, Republicans slipped a completely unrelated abortion amendment into the legislation and are now refusing to confirm Lynch as the Attorney General until the human trafficking bill is passed as is. Abortion has nothing to do with the human trafficking bill or Loretta Lynch's confirmation.

We the people need an Attorney General, especially one as qualified as Loretta Lynch, to take on the many challenges this nation faces. Mitch McConnell and the rest of Senate Republicans must stop playing political games and immediately hold a vote to confirm Loretta Lynch as the Attorney General of the United States.
