We ask you to oppose the anti-abortion bill SB1. Texas lawmakers should take steps to preserve, not endanger, women's health and lives.
Why is this important?
This week, hundreds rallied and many presented testimony in favor of protecting women's access to safe abortion care. The Texas House did not heed warnings about a return to back-alley abortions; indeed, one woman was abruptly ejected for noting that a member who is an ophthalmologist isn't specially qualified to dictate women's health care decisions.
Texas lawmakers should do better than this. The nation is watching. Our state should demonstrate that it respects women's personal decisions and work to ensure women's health.
