The US Navy can kill, maim, and harass 7,956 whales and 100K dolphins per year. Tell the Dept. of...

Cease issuing permits to the Navy to emit sonar sounds into the oceans that harass, maim, and kill the sea life including whales, dolphins, and other cetaceans.

Why is this important?

We’re asking you and your friends to please help us to take the next step and save over a million sea creatures by signing this petition to the Department of Fisheries. Your names and comments were included in the Navy’s Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) application if you signed the previous petition. Now the US Navy wants to radically increase this testing and they must have a permit from the Department of Fisheries to do it. The estimations of how many animals will die has increased dramatically in the past five years. The US Navy currently has a permit to kill or maim as many as 7,956 whales per year, as well as over 100,000 dolphins yearly in the California-Hawaii region alone, and there are many other locations world-wide in which the US Navy is testing, covering much of the Earth’s oceans!

Your name and comments will be submitted to the Department of Fisheries asking them to cease issuing permits to continue this practice. Without pressure from the public, meaning you, the Department of Fisheries will issue a permit to the US Navy in early December 2012, which will allow this devastation of our sea life to escalate! Please sign this today (even if you already signed the previous petition) and pass it onto your friends who can help us network this world-wide. In the fate of our oceans lies the key to life on Earth. Thank you for taking a stand for our earth’s oceans!

We all hold the fate of our oceans in our hands.
